Something of a Spark by Monique Mcdonell

Book 1 in the The Jewel Sisters Romance series

Sometimes it’s hard to know when to let go of a secret.
Growing up as one of the Jewel Sisters of Caudal Bay has never been easy for Sapphire Smith so she grew up and got out of town as soon as possible. As far as her friend’s and family are concerned she’s a struggling radio DJ living in Sydney who works part-time as a PA for her best friend country music star Ryan Storm, but that’s only part of the story.
When an accident in her home town brings real-life hero and firefighter Campbell into her life their relationship with starts with a smoulder and slowly begins to spark.
Campbell has given up his career as a corporate lawyer to be a small-town firefighter. He loves his new town and the welcoming atmosphere as much as Saffy loves the anonymity of the city.
As their relationship begins to heat up one thing is clear – Cam is all about honesty and Saffy has a big secret because she’s really the writer of all Ryan’s songs and only the two of them know that means she’s worth millions
Will Saffy come clean before lies ruin her relationship not just with Ryan but with her family or will her desire to keep people at arms length see her relationship fizzle out before it has a such to catch fire.

This was an amazing story of a woman attempting to find her place in the universe, separate from her family and their lives, but some where along the way she lost herself and what she truly wants in her life. Fate has delivered a chance for her to make a choice that could change the path she originally embarked on. As we go on this journey with her, we find out so much about her and those around us. It was done with style and was not overwhelming in the way the author provided this history on the characters in the story. – Heather, 5 Stars
